Tico y Aguabajo - Danzando (LP)

Danzando is the 6th album of Tico y Aguabajo. Bandleader/composer Tico mixes his Colombian roots with rhythms such as cumbia with his Western music influences, inspired by funky grooves from James Brown and Maceo Parker. Tico y Aguabajo consists of a line-up of Dutch and Colombian musicians: Tico Pierhagen (Rhodes and piano), Juan Guillermo Aguilar 'Cosito' (drums and percussion), Jose Juvinao (bass), Efraïm Trujillo (saxophone), Frans Cornelissen (trombone) and Juan Guillermo Giraldo 'El Fabu ' (trumpet). Colombian percussion star and Latin Grammy winner Samuel Torres, known for his collaborations with Chick Corea, Tito Puente and Richard Bona, can be heard on five instrumental pieces. Another special guest is the Dutch-Surinamese vocalist/percussionist Gianna Tam who wrote three pieces together with Tico.
